Product description

Stay ahead of the game with a helmet that incorporates the latest safety features to keep up with your youngsters' rapidly developing skills. The Smith Descend Jr. helmet combines Mips® and zonal Koroyd® technologies for enhanced energy-absorbing impact protection. An adjustable dial and venting ensure a comfortable fit and temperature regulation while riding. Add a plush liner and a lightweight, durable shell and you have a helmet that inspires confidence on all fronts.

MIPS technology:

The helmet equipped with MIPS® (Multi - Directional Impact Protection System) technology consists of three main parts: the EPS polystyrene shell, the MIPS® slip liner and the elastomers that connect the first two parts. In the event of an impact at an angle, as commonly occurs in higher speed crashes, the elastomers will stretch, allowing the helmet shell to move slightly against the MIPS® glide liner, absorbing rotational forces. This is a movement of a few millimetres. But even these few millimetres, during those critical two milliseconds, can significantly reduce the rotational forces that would otherwise be transmitted to the brain, where they have a devastating effect.

Main advantages and parameters:

  • Lightweight in-mold construction fuses the outer shell and EPS foam into a two-piece design that's lightweight and durable
  • Zonal Koroyd structure absorbs 30% more energy than commonly used materials
  • AirEvac™ ventilation system integration for fog-free lenses
